After Barcelona, my second great love is Manhattan. That piece of land is one of the most energetic places I know. When I lived there, one of my favorite pleasures was wandering aimlessly (from East to West or from North to South) and getting lost in its streets. It didn’t matter where he was because when he looked up there was the absolute protagonist of New York: the Empire State Building.
He is the compass that tells you where you are and how far you have gone from home. I love that building, for me it is the very essence of the city, it represents the desire of the inhabitants of this city to get off the ground and be able to touch the sky.
This illustration tries to pay homage to my favorite New York friend: the empire state building.
